Could You Spare a Little Time?

Luton CAB needs volunteers to enable us to continue to provide free confidential advice and information. If you join us you will be one of the team dealing with nearly 50,000 enquiries every year from the people of Luton. We will provide the support and training you need to advise on debt, benefits, housing, employment and a whole range of issues.

You don't need experience or qualifications to become a generalist adviser; but we do require you to undergo a selection process; this will help us and you identify your suitability for this demanding, challenging and enormously rewarding work. By involvement in a caring organisation, with professional expectations, volunteering can provide satisfaction, stimulation, challenge and potential for personal growth.

....our advisers deal with a vast number and range of queries and they know that every one represents a real and often urgent concern affecting the lives of the client and frequently their wider family....

.....the commitment of our volunteer advisers ensures we can continue to offer the people of Luton a high quality advice service well into the future...

The training takes place over several months and the trainees are gradually introduced to interviewing clients under supervision and with the support of the guidance tutor and bureau team.

If you would like to join our team as a volunteer adviser and if you can volunteer a minimum of one day a week, please contact Jane Jenkins at jane_jenkins@hotmail.co.uk
